Headmaster is an enticing visual-art magazine with a “dewd-on-dewd” edge.
And guess who has an illustration of himself in the latest edition,
Vol. 2?
Headmaster has a back-to-school concept behind it.
Artists are given “assignments.”
In-the-buff portraitist and the newly minted director of University of Texas at Dallas’ CentralTrack,
Heyd Fontenot, was given the homework task of incorporating more Texas history into the Headmaster curriculum.
I’m depicted as
Willie Shoemaker, from Faben, Texas.

Willie (1931-2003) was a legendary jockey who won the Belmont Stakes five times.
In Fontenot’s layout, my Shoemaker image sits in the company of
Beyonce (she’s from Houston), the Von Erichs brothers, Mary Kay Ash and
David Koresh, among others.
Actually, my modeling session was supposed to be for supermodel
Suzy Parker, who hails from San Antonio.
But Fontenot told me I was too fat. So he made me half-man, half-horse.
